Our Awarded Grants and Partners
We measure our impact through ongoing partnership with the organizations we support. Our grantees are accessed by their progress, impact, and outcomes.
Patient-Focused Drug Development Initiative
The Fairfield Fund partnered with the Foundation Fighting Blindness to fund a Patient-Focused Drug Development (PFDD) program with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. PFDD programs elevate the voices of patients and caregivers, ensuring that lived experience helps shape how new treatments are evaluated and developed—so regulatory decisions reflect real-world priorities, not just clinical measures.
Accountable to our patient community.
We measure our impact through ongoing partnership and accountability with the organizations we support. Grantee partners are asked to provide biannual written updates describing progress, outcomes, and challenges related to their funded projects. These reports help us assess alignment with our mission, understand real-world impact, and inform future funding decisions, while allowing flexibility for the evolving nature of research and patient-focused work.
“With the support of The Fairfield Fund, people living with Usher syndrome type 1B now have a seat at the table with the FDA to share their real-world experiences—an essential step in advancing potential treatments from the lab into the lives of patients. We are deeply grateful for this partnership and for The Fairfield Fund’s belief in the power of the patient voice.”
